And that brings another complication to the Watchers' process: What if the meal pattern could create different meals and you didn't know which was correct? There is one more complication to be addressed (which we'll learn next episode, but I believe a few of you already noticed it, even if somewhat subconsciously).

This made me hungry for pizza.

I hope you may have pizza in the near future, Slim XD

lol, seems like I was right with pizza :)

I am sure now: Ruth is going to win...

...by the way she (the customer) looks so cute there... ♡
13th Oct 2021, 10:50 PM
Yup yup, you were right 😄 it's a bit of a mess to guess, though, can you imagine if Ruth never even heard of pizza before?

Eve is very cute indeed hahaha
14th Oct 2021, 6:56 PM
that she is - and lil'Eve is just adorable...

'light on the sauce'...or maybe they make it from pepper paste instead ? that could be interesting.
13th Oct 2021, 10:52 PM
It does seem a little lacking in sauce, though yes, with the varieties of toppings pizza could have, who can say what it could be?
8th Oct 2021, 12:50 AM
Yeah, no tomatoes, garlic, onions, or oregano on that list for the sauce.
Also, no milk and renett (lemon juice in a pinch) to make the mozarella cheese - although she might be able to raid Yeqon's diary supply from her butter churning).
No eggs are required for pizza dough, but on can be cracked onto a pie before it goes into the oven.
Curing that pork into pepperoni will take about 6 months, unless there's a magical time-displacement device/spell. Otherwise, Ruth could simply make sausagees, and put small globs of sausage meat on it instead of cured meat. Still VERY yummy!
Of course, Ruth could cure and smoke the pork to make ham, and add that to the crust along with chunks of pineapple... ;)

There's garlic on the list and you don't need onions for the sauce, they help but they're not necessary, oregano is definitely not required although some basil would be nice, rosemary and parsley are on the list though ;)
Maybe they're allowed to use some basic items from the kitchen, like an herb garden ?

Sausage does make more sense than pepperoni, it can be done without curing it although maybe the magic of the afterlife can take care of that.

I'm wondering if the sugar cane and eggs are for a dessert to go with the pizza ?
The use of 'sugar cane' instead of 'cane sugar' makes me wonder, sugar cane is used as a treat in many places and I've chewed on some myself, it's gooooood.
A nice 'cracker crust' for the pizza doesn't need as much time to raise as a 'bread crust' so that might makea difference if they have a time limit.
Mozzarella (the real stuff) is made from Water Buffalo milk, not cow's milk but it should be possible to make some curds and come up with cheese of some sort.

The important thing is they took the time to talk to her and find out what she liked instead of just making something from the list of ingredients and putting it in front of her.

Looks like they get to use

Sugar Cane
(and a picture of a chicken, maybe that means chicken eggs or maybe they get to use chicken too ?)
Olives (doesn't say green or black so I say black for pizza ;) )
Fennel (Italian sausague needs fennel, lots of it)
Rosemary (good in sausages too, I buy a red pepper, rosemary and chicken sausage that's yummy good)
Bell Peppers (red for pizza, they don't give you gas like the green ones)
and Garlic (her thumb's covering part of the word, but it makes sense)

This should be interesting, our intrepid chefs might have better ideas to show us :)

For everything you ever wanted to know about pizza along with more recipes, tips and tricks that you could ever count, this is the place, I found it some years ago and still look in once in awhile
Steer clear of the forums though, unless you want to lose a couple of hours reading the pros and cons of different flours and yeasts from professional pizza chefs...

and if you're short an ingredient, you can very often substitute something...

For that matter, they seem to have all the ingredients to make linguine (or any pasta) and white sauce with meatballs.
Maybe even a lasagna, I saw one once you made with white sauce, turkey, veggies, etc. and thought it was so good I started making it myself (tomatoes give me heartburn sometimes). It's like turkey a la king on lasagna noodles and I usually make it with the leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner (or any other time we have a turkey) it's especially good with stuffing mixed into the filling :)

All very true. For the egg, it's not required for sure, though some pizza places do include it for various purposes.

Ham would also take a while methinks, but hopefully not as long as 6 months XD and ahh, Hawaiian pizza. I'd like it more if the ones being sold in our area didn't feel so dry...

Mmmmmmhhh, pizza!! :-D

Pizza, a filling, comforting meals for a lot of folks 🥰

Her memory might be incomplete but now that they've jogged it a little by talking to her instead of just going with the list they might get a little 'edge' and 'unlock' some extra ingredients ;)
13th Oct 2021, 11:15 PM
Thst's true, just because this is the list doesn't necessarily mean that's all there is to it.
